St. Andrew's has gone SOLAR!

St. Andrew's celebrated our recent Solar addition and steps towards greater environmental care at our Solar Sunday celebration on February 16, 2014 with a blessing from the local Lutheran Bishop R. Guy Erwin, remarks from local leaders, information from our Solar Provider and various environmental groups, tours of the church's environment-friendly features, food and family fun...it was a bright day for our community!

This initative comes as a year-long prayerful process of discerning how we can be good stewards of the gifts God has blessed us with, including our wonderful neighborhood. God calls us to take care of our environment and we hope that by installing these panels and making other energy-reducing changes we can live into that call.

We want to give a special thanks to the people at Solar Forward who have worked with us on this project from start to finish.

Additionally St. Andrew's has joined California Interfaith Power and Light as a member organization committed to a sustainable future. The church council has also endorsed Environment California's 20/20 initiative to encourage the city of Los Angeles to commit to 20% renewable energy by the year 2020.
