The long summer season - marked by the color green - is traditionally called "ordinary time" because it does not have any major festivals or observances. St. Andrew's joins other contemporary churches in splitting up this time with smaller creative seasons that focus on particular themes. St. Andrew's discerned that God was inviting us to a time of restoration and peace building when so much in the world seems determined to divide us with fear and hate. God calls us together in peace and love.

We are pulled in so many different directions that peace becomes elusive. The ongoing pain and turmoil in the world deserves our full attention, but we require time to regroup. Our worship during this season helps slow things down to attend to the ways God is filling our hearts.
